What skills are most important for becoming a Game Designer?
It might sound simple, but the truth of the matter is that previous game design experience is the best experience you can have. So, it would be helpful for you to have previous experience as level builder and a familiarity with level editing tools. Basically, anything gives you actual experience designing a level of a game is going to be a huge advantage to you. It also helps to have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
