Intercultural and diversity management are certainly top of the list, but also the awareness that globalization has definitively changed the world. That means, IB professionals need to be aware of challenges and opportunities, strengths and weakness in a complexity that goes beyond domestic business environments. One has to be able to cope with globalized risks, with globalized competition and with globalized responsibilities. Some examples for the growing involvement of IB in its environment are areas of social development, environmental issues and conflict prevention – Those are areas of competence that IB professionals were not required to master barely ten years ago.
