What size Yorkie is best for a family with children?
The healthy robust 6 to 8 pound Yorkie is our favorite playmate for children. Although “Buttercup” only weighs 3 lbs as a puppy, my son knows how to handle with care. We try NOT to breed the sickly, tiny, frail Yorkies, who mature under 3 lbs. Some breeders charge more for these kind and call them “mini or micro Teacup”. Those breeders are often only concerned with small size and not with mental or physical health. You may end up paying many times more than just their price, in Vet bills for those puppies. Many of my clients have spent a small fortune on their first Yorkies from other breeders. When we do have a really small one, it will be guaranteed healthy, from our old fashioned lines.
