What size wire should be used for flypens or flights?
Wire for dove aviaries should be 1/2 inch or smaller. Chicken wire is not acceptable. Avian wire (smaller version of chicken wire) is also not a good choice, as it is easily bent. We prefer welded 1/2 inch wire, painted flat black. Welded wire is exceptionally strong and rigid, preventing the most determined predator from gaining entry.
