You will get the flow rates you need with the smaller pumps than that which is put out by the larger pump. In fact you may get less flow rate with the bigger pumps. Those pumps are designed to have flow rates associated with 2″ & 3″ plumbing. Also, if you have a heater on the system – it too has a maximum flow rate associated with it.
