What size backpack should be used for a summer of travelling around Europe?
I think 45 liters isn’t enough. Last summer I went to Russia, Mongolia and China for two months and I used a backpack from 65 liters. It was ok, but better when I had a bigger one. So, I think a backpack from about 70-90 liters will be all right. You should go to a good store where people can give you some good advice. Just to make sure you buy a good one in the right size 😉 . There are also backpacks, which you can ‘enlarge’. Mine was 65 liters, but I could change it into 75 liters by putting on another ‘piece’.
