What simple drink can I make with dark rum besides Roman coke?
Dark rum goes with fruit juices too… The Rum Runner is a very popular drink that is filled with fruit flavor. It can be either shaken or blended, both ways create a delicious tropical cocktail. If you cannot find Falernum (an almond, ginger, lime and spiced sugar syrup) that is used in many rum cocktails you can use grenadine instead. INGREDIENTS: * 4 oz orange juice * 1/2 oz blackberry brandy * 1/2 oz crème de banane * 1 1/2 oz gold/drk rum * dash of Falernum or grenadine PREPARATION: 1. Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled hurricane glass. Optional: Pour ingredients into blender with approximately 3/4 cup of ice and blend until smooth.
