What similarities does StarTopia have with Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper and Theme Park?
Quite a few, since some people at Mucky Foot come from Bullfrog and helped make those games. Firstly, the building of some structures is similar to Theme Hospital and Theme Park. For some you need to first drag out a floorplan and then place the door, then the furniture as in Theme Hospital. Other buildings just require you to place them down and choose the facing, like some rides and shops in Theme Park. The handling of creatures is similar to Dungeon Keeper in that you do not have direct control of them but you can employ them. There are also Scuzzer Droids that are similar to the Imps in Dungeon Keeper, they build everything and you can ‘pick them up’ and put them anywhere you want. Also similar to Dungeon Keeper is the fact that all creatures have specific advantages and disadvantages which you need to understand to succeed. What’s with the name? The working title was originally Space Station, but the team decided that they needed something with a bit more character. StarTopia not
