What significant events happened during the second vatican council?
The main empahasis of Vatican II was to help make the Church more responsive to the needs of all the people of God, and to eliminate what some viewed as barriers to entry. No new dogma was introduced. The biggest event was the new rite of the Mass, celebrated in the local vernacular, all round the world. The Council also updated many of the old Church documents and constitutions. It was after the council that the most significant events actually occured.
