What shows will originate from the KGW Studio on the Square?
KGW will broadcast its weekday morning news, its noon news and the Live @ 7 program from the KGW Studio on the Square. Technical information: KGW Studio on the Square is a high definition television studio. It contains three fully robotic studio cameras and a fourth manned roving camera which will be used to capture live events in Pioneer Courthouse Square. In addition, KGW has a fixed camera mounted on a nearby building that overlooks the Square. The Studio contains over 100 pieces of new equipment and a mile of new wiring. The camera signals originate in 1080i HD and are converted to fiber optic signals that send the images and sound back to the KGW main studio. In addition, the sound, data, and telephone circuits all are digitized and sent over the fiber cable. Part of the fiber optic connection is leased from Tri-Met.
