Well, Henry Miller’s “Tropic of Cancer” is generally a popular one if you’re in the banned classics category. Perhaps because my mother was exceedingly liberal about sex, etc, though, I really didn’t how people in the current social climate still look at you funny when they see you with a copy or hear you talking about it. I think another choice that I could go for (go ahead and collectively cringe) would be something by the Marquise de Sade. I’ve only read one, “Juliette, or Vice Amply Rewarded” but would consider trying others. While I am definitly not a sadist or even understand why people would be into that, the way he wrote, his style, is so exquisite that I damn near forgot I was reading something by one of the most famous perverts that ever lived. That’s about as much as I could come up with off the top of my head in the banned classics category.
