What should the NP do if their certification lapses?
A. All NP’s should see to it that their certification remains current. In the event that it lapses they should apply for recertification, notify the board that they have done so and then the matter will be examined as to whether it is a clerical problem with the certifying agency or truly a lapsed certification. It is required that one has national certification to be certified in MS so in fact they may have to wait either for formal granting of recertification or at the very least a letter that they are in the process of recertifying from the agency that is processing the request. 14.
