• If there is a router on the network, the default gateway is usually IP address of one of the gateways or routers attached to the local segment or subnet. (If you are not sure what the router IP address is, contact the network administrator. It is possible to use the command ipconfig to check the default gateway of the computer and use that to configure the HP Jetdirect, but only if the HP Jetdirect will be used on the same local network or subnet as that computer.) • If the router is a DSL router, often it is best to configure the default gateway address to the same address as the IP address of the HP Jetdirect. • If there is no router on the local area network , configure the default gateway address to the same address as the IP address of the Jetdirect • Use Web Jetadmin, Telnet, the Embedded Web Server (on some Jetdirects) or the front control panel of the printer to configure TCP/IP addresses on the HP Jetdirect.
