What should students do to prepare for/comply with SEVIS?
1. Read email updates, Visa Advisories and the International Center website for up to date changes and announcements. 2. Understand immigration regulations affecting your visa category and make sure you are maintaining legal status in the U.S. 3. Refer questions or problems to the experts at the International Center; do not rely upon information given to you by well meaning friends. 4. Be proactive. Plan course schedules carefully. Make travel arrangements early and anticipate delays at consulates and border crossings. Keep all immigration documents up to date update changes in major field of study, local and home country address in Student Link. Allow time for processing of documents – travel signatures, change in degree level, transfers and extensions.
