What should Student Athletes know about agents?
You need to know that s igning with an agent before exhausting your college eligibility; signing an undated agreement with an agent or runner (i.e. representative of an agent), before or during your final season of eligibility; or accepting money, gifts, loans, trips, rides, in any form, from an agent, agent runner, or representative, are all punishable offenses and could result in strong sanctions and fines by the NCAA for both your team and university . Some of these sanctions may include the repayment of monies received from post season participation, forfeiture of games, and possible expulsion from future post season games for a specified number of years, and the potential for personal liability for the accused party and or their representative.
