First, they should read the notice carefully. It explains their options for retaining their driver’s licence. Typically, new drivers may either take a test to graduate to the next level of licence (e.g. G1 to G2, or G2 to G); or take a test to requalify for (that is, retain) their current new class (e.g. M2 stays M2).
