– Megan Schliesman, Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) Megan gave a great presentation and distributed an article written by James LaRue called “Budda at the Gate, Running: Why people challenge library materials”. It is important that library board members know and understand the collection policies of their libraries as well as understand and follow the rules of the ALA Code of Ethics. Committee Reports: Personnel: 1. Recommendation for Board action on appeal of termination of D. Sullivan. On behalf of the Personnel Committee, C. Chapman moved approval to sustain the termination of D. Sullivan’s employment with the South Central Library System. J. Hanson seconded. Motion carried. Facilities: The new space is almost completed. As of October 1st, staff will be able to begin moving things into the new space. The board is welcome to tour the new facility after our meeting today.
