What should I watch FIRST Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, or superman 1-4?

Lois and Clark has nothing to do with the movies. It is a separate series, that focuses more on Clark Kent than Superman. Superman 1 and 2 are outstanding…(a lot better than the terrible superman returns movie) 3 and 4 are awful. Superman Returns actually is supposed to take place after part 2, with 3 and 4 basically being erased from history. As a whole the series is pretty good, but take it for what it is, much more of a romantic comedy than a serious addition to “superman lore”.
