Although the PIC is a little easier to use, it is limited in expansion and programming capabilities. An HC11 micro, such as the MTJPRO11 with IC and PROGO (Mekatronix language for beginners), is far superior in I/0, sensing and control capabilities and allows you to greatly expand your base robot or microcontroller application with sophisticated programs and additional sensors and motors.
