Usually in most states when a person wants to drop the charges the state will pick it up. I would plead not guilty and explain what happened but if you didnt do anything wrong then I would plead not guilty.

The answer is obvious, plead not guilty. But the real question is, why is there a warrant out for you?

If there is a warrant, you need to turn yourself in immediately. It would be good to do a couple of things first.

  1. Let your work know you are taking the day off.
  2. Seek Counsel. I believe you can hire the public defender in this case.
  3. Call a bail bonds company and get all of their information for preparation.

Turn yourself in to the court as early as possible so that you might have a chance to see the judge that day.

Make sure you walk into the public defender’s office that morning and have him walk with you to wherever you need to turn your self in.

Have all the bail bonds company information with you and give duplicates to the lawyer. In the rare case that the judge doesn’t let you go, you’ll be detained in jail on a domestic violence charge and will need to bail your self out, or have the girl that beat you up while you were sleeping bail you out.

If there is no warrant our for your arrest, take care of this immediately before things get complicated. Call the arresting officer, call a lawyer, and even go to court and just ask around and figure out what to do.

Take all paperwork that you might have currently when you venture in to court.
