Most application development tools available for native and Java based applications for the Linux platform can be used. Eclipse and Rational application development tools products such as Rational Application Developer and Rational Software Architect can also be used with the AMI. Rational Agent Controller V8.0 is started in the image to enable remote access to the WebSphere Application server profile in the AMI. Users can use the Rational Application Developer V7.5 or Rational Software Architect V7.5 IDEs on their local machines and deploy, test and debug their WebSphere Application Server Applications running on the AMI. This offloads much of the work from your local machine while still giving you seamless access to the application server in the AMI. The IDEs, in concert with Rational Agent Controller, will automatically transport and install your IDE on he application server running in the AMI whenever you make changes to the applications.
