What should i make for my end of year textile project?
You could have a look through Vogue or another high end fashion magazine for inspiration. They show the more experimental pieces by designers that could give you ideas. Last month they featured a pair of shoes made from stiff lace and plastic – looked amazing. I think experimenting with textile samples at the start of semester helps you come up with ideas. If it’s up to you to choose a theme, choose something that will encourage lots of ideas for texture, colour and pattern. That way you’ll make somenting unique. Final piece ideas: waistcoat, corset, dress, hat, handbag, ballerina dress, blouse P.s. (One of my themes was ‘pushing materials to and beyond their limitatons’. Sounds a random but was really interesting and fun coz it meant using materials for a different purpose than intended. eg.
