What should I major in to become a pediatric oncologist?

Like others have said the process is to obtain a four year degree in ANY subject, many choose a science major such as bio or chem but many (like myself) chose something that is on paper a little “easier” such as psychology all that you will actually need is : 2 x semester Bio w/lab 2 x semester Chem w / lab 2 x semester organic chem w / lab 2 x semester physics with lab you may wish to further your science GPA by taking additional courses such as biochem, anatomy, etc Get the best average you can and then junior year take the MCAT exam in the spring. Get your apps out early and apply to a good selection of schools (MD/DO) Once your in medical school you will do two years of science and medical classes (preclinical) and then the next two years are further learning and gaining experience through exposure You will then most likely have to do an oncology residency or it may be an internal medicine and then an oncology fellowship Good luck in your endeavors!
