What should I know about raising kittens, after litterbox training, shots, and spaying?

Currently the thinking on spaying and neutering has changed as the vets/shelters will do these procedures at about 3 months and based on weight (likely at least three pounds). My kits ( a boy and a girl were just done and the rabies) shot was given at the same time. It is best to do these things as early as you can. I read that females can go into heat around the third month and males mature about a month later. The boosters are the first shots they get (3 and done at one-month intervals) but in our case we rescued them after mom left (for 3 days) and the vet said they didn’t have enough wt. to keep their temperature plus the girl had developed conjunctuvitis, so we waited 1 month and had it done at a clinic. They were about 6 weeks or so when we got them, 7.5 when they went to the vet. For health care- If you have some good local shelters (501 k types) they sometimes do clinics and you can save $$$ if you need to. Also, if they are tiny the vet said to feed “at will” until they could
