The Stagehand remote control is treated like a keyboard because it sends keyboard commands to the USB receiver. Depending on what version of OS X you have, the keyboard setup assistant may ask you to push any key or a certain key on the “keyboard”. Just push the up or down button on the remote control. If it asks you to identify the type of keyboard, pick “ANSI” (or “US”). If the setup routine seems to get stuck, just try closing the setup screen and check whether the remote control is working. If you need to do the routine again and it is not automatically popping up, go to System Preferences, Keyboard & Mouse, Keyboard, Change Keyboard Type.
