Well with damaged items in your luggage, you have four hours after you get your bags back to file the damage claim. Airlines have what’s called a contract of carriage. In there, it states what is and what is not covered by damage. Almost everything is not covered ironically! Anyways, if it is covered by the airline, they will depreciate it and you will get a substantially less amount that you paid for it after you prove that you actually paid for it. Most airlines only give you travel vouchers on their airline for that amount. Unfortunately the airlines cannot promise you safety of your baggage. Lost and damage luggage is a risk you accept when you give an airline your belongings. I’m afraid that you will have a hard time getting them to give you anything because I’m assuming that it’s more than the four hour window.
