What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before using Epi EZ Pen (epinephrine injection)?
Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you have: • heart disease or high blood pressure; • a heart rhythm disorder; • diabetes; or • a thyroid disorder. If you have any of these conditions, you may not be able to use epinephrine, or you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use the medication. FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. If possible before ever using this medication, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Before an emergency occurs, talk to your doctor about using epinephrine injection if you are breast-feeding a baby.
