What should I discuss with my doctor or healthcare professional before using Qutenza®?
Tell your doctor or healthcare professional if you: • Have high blood pressure or if you have recently had any heart problems or stroke. Due to possible treatment-related increases in pain, you may experience an increase in your blood pressure. Your doctor or healthcare professional will monitor your blood pressure during and shortly after your Qutenza® treatment. • Are taking any opioids (narcotic analgesics, such as codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and morphine, among others), since you may not get sufficient pain relief from additional opioid pain medicine when treated for pain during and following treatment. This way, your doctor can use a different pain treatment if needed.
