What should I choose as a career… is an electrician a good choice?

It may be a shocking experience for you but, all the electricians I have spoken with appear to enjoy their jobs. Can you get in touch with an electrician in your city and ask them to ‘tag’ along for a day to see what they do and if you will like the job? You may also have to join a union therefore, contact a local trades union to get more information about becoming an apprentice. Some community colleges may offer training and this training may just focus on the job itself rather, than taking a variety of courses not related to the job. This would be called a trade school that has relationships with employers who may hire you upon competing the training program. Good luck.
