What should be the strategy of engagement that Indian software companies should adopt vis-à-vis China?
China has a large domestic market, a substantial talent base, strong government support and strong hardware and embedded technology skills and realizing the big potential, many Indian companies such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Satyam on their part have also shown keenness to work with the Chinese and develop business. India, with its large pool of skilled, English speaking, high productivity and cost effective manpower equipped with the state-of-the-art-technology and over a decade of experience, has a well accepted niche in the IT software and service sector. In this field, we are not only reliable partner, but are technologically ahead of potential competitors, including China, by at least a few years. China, on the other hand has strong hardware industry and a large domestic market, which forms the basis for its foray in the international market.
