What should be major parts of the AML Policy?
AML policy will be different for different banks primarily depending up their size, geographical location and the business of the bank. The primary components of the policy may include among others, Customer Acceptance criteria, Identification / verification requirement standards & Bench marking with periodic monitoring of customer accounts and transactions. The crucial component will be the Capacity building, training and a system to implement and monitor the AML policy of the bank.
