What should be done about unaccountable spam cancellers??
The current winner of the “most cancels issued” award is Cosmo Roadkill, a ‘bot operated by “Uncle Roadkill” that single-handedly cancels most of Usenet’s spam. This was, for a time, considered a good thing; still, the ‘bot isn’t perfect, and over time people have found more and more problems with Cosmo. This too would be okay, except for one thing – Uncle Roadkill never responds to complaints. There still isn’t really a true response to this issue, but at least people are outraged.
