What should be discussed or defined with a supervisor?
In keeping focused on goals, be sure your supervisor is aware of your plan to reach the benchmarks youve set for yourself. Also be open to his or her advice on a regular basis. It is not to your advantage to have a supervisor who doesnt say anything about your progress in reaching your goals. No news is not good news. Ask for advice. Be sure youre on track. How should a person respond to the office culture? Most companies have a tone that youll pick up from the first interview you have with the managers. Initially play off of this tone but dont feel youve mastered the company culture simply because youre getting along well the first few weeks or even months. There is much more to an office culture than meets the eye and it can take a while to fully appreciate flow of a workplace. What should a person not do when settling in? Assume nothing.
