What should be considered when planning a summative assessment for special education students?
Assessment tasks should match the tasks/activities completed throughout the learning segment. Learning objectives should be clearly identified. Criteria for success should be shared with students prior to the assessment. Most importantly, students’ strengths and learning styles should be considered when designing a summative assessment.
