What should be considered when choosing what level of baseball a kid should play?
Many parents will throw their kids right into travel or elite programs in hopes of giving their children the best possible chance to earn a college scholarship or to carve out a professional sports career. But when it comes to the development of the kid as a player, you have to learn to catch and throw at a young age. A young player is not going to be in a better position to be drafted or to earn a scholarship because of the level of play you choose. My biggest concern with travel programs is that they put a big emphasis on winning very early, and they put pressure on the kids very early to specialize in the same sport. When that happens the kids end up playing a lot of games, which can be a potential negative for a child in terms of developing skills and a love for the sport. In my opinion, yo
