What should an Early Childhood Educator’s workday look like?
The vision of Dr. Charles Pascal is to have two professionals, an Early Childhood Educator and a Teacher, collaborating together to plan and develop a play-based program for four- and five-year-olds. Any schedule for a full-time ECE will include morning and afternoon paid breaks and an uninterrupted, unpaid lunch period. The schedule will respect the collective agreement and provide a learning environment that meets the needs of the students since the working conditions of the Early Childhood Educators are the learning conditions of the students. The schedule should also allow collaboration time between the ECE/Teacher team with other education professionals such as educational assistants, child and youth workers, psychologists, social workers and speech/language pathologists.
