What should a wedding videographer capture on film?
Control of your subject or lack thereof, is always a factor in wedding videography. For example, I certainly don’t direct the ceremony myself, choose the color palette, or pick the time of day. But I do focus on the images that move me personally. Many different kinds of people shoot wedding videos, and if you continue to work in this field over a period of time you can develop a keen eye and a sense of what holds importance and will translate well to video. I don’t believe that any image is ever accidental, even when the circumstances under which you choose to capture that image are seemingly random. I am reminded of this with every new wedding that I take part in. I’ve captured countless weddings on video, yet I see something completely new each time.
