“supercat” is right – a polo shirt & jeans are fine. Just dress normally, though maybe not as casually as at home. Do avoid wearing short pants and white socks as everyday clothing. Europe is much cooler and wetter than most of the USA in June & July – but the weather is not entirely predictable so you need to be prepared for changes. A small backpack makes a good carryon bag and will be useful in your daily life. Hold your checked luggage to one regular-size rolling suitcases (not more than 50 pounds). If you take a laptop it almost certainly accepts 240 volts so you don’t need a converter for it (look on the power supply). However, you do need an adapter to connect the flat-prong USA plug to round-prong outlets in Europe. Note that the UK and continental Europe use different types of outlets.
