Landlords should treat Section 8-assisted tenants the same as market tenants. This would be a case of non-payment of rent and the landlord should utilize the normal legal remedies. The landlord should also contact the WNYHA immediately and we will inform the tenant that non-payment of rent will result in assistance termination.
