No harm buying a ring from any where, but look on internet for local shops and prices of rings.

A ring is a ring. If you’re worried she might not approve (as it were) of H Samuels, you could buy a different box to put it in then she wouldn’t recognise the packaging. Or you could do as a friend of mine did, get the ring and put it in a necklace box to totally throw her off the scent lol. Any amount is an acceptable amount as long as you can afford it and don’t get riddled with loans and debt and whatnot. Personally I would go ape if my house deposit went on a super snazzy diamond… My advice to you: Relax! She’s gonna love any ring you buy her, big or small, whether its from H Samuels or Tesco… I think you’re very sweet being concerned about this but you know her, and her jewellry tastes, best. Good luck!

no there’s nothing wrong with it at all but before spending so much money go have a look in some other jewellers, you might get more for your money, i don’t know about where you stay but in glasgow we have argyle arcade it’s a whole area full of jewellery shops and for that sort of money you can get a really good deal shopping around and getting quotes.
