What share of the proceeds will the game inventor receive?
Games companies complete an Licensing Agreement with the inventor and/or agent. Primarily this agreement sets down the use of the copyright for marketing, e.g. in which countries the companies wish to sell the game, but also the financial aspect. Games inventors standardly receive between 3% and 5% of licence fees of the net proceeds from the companies. The exact level of the licence fee depends on different factors which are determined and negotiated individually. Ravensburger and most other companies pay licence fees on a six-monthly basis, but a few on an annual basis.
