What Shapes Make Strong Building Frames?
(Student Book, pages 12-13) As children examine a picture of the Colosseum on page 13 of their books, explain that the Colosseum is about 1900 years old. Encourage the children to appreciate the hard work required to build this beautiful building as it provides proof of the many talents and labours of a people from long ago. Challenge the children to try and think of other buildings that have lasted for many years. The value of work and an appreciation of people’s contributions relates to Theme 5 Topic 3 ‘Building God’s World’ in the “Fully Alive program.
