• The Department and APB would continue to provide the same level of support for regional animal and plant pest management programs as it currently does. • The focus of the Department’s attention on some activities may shift to complement the efforts of ZCAs, and to ensure that ZCAs are adequately supported. • The Department and APB would: • Implement the business of the Government of the day (policy development, legislative, ministerial business etc) • Ensure compliance with international and national obligations, and facilitate participation in international and national pest and weed management programs. • Provide quarantine protection for the borders of the State. • Deliver services for the management of pests of state-wide significance and related activities eg Skeleton Weed, Starlings, Keeping requirements for Exotic Animals etc. • Provide Executive Officer support to ZCAs and manage any issues arising between ZCAs. • Deliver activities that cannot be undertaken by a single Zone
