WHAT SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE TOWN OF ETOWAH?
In order to be incorporated, a municipality must offer at least four (4) of eight (8) services outlined by State law. We propose to offer the following four (4) services: Police Protection: Through a contract with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, at least one (1) Deputy will be assigned solely to patrol the Town of Etowah. The Sheriff’s Office would be responsible for providing around-the-clock protection. Fire Protection: The Etowah-Horse Shoe Fire District will continue to provide fire protection to the Town of Etowah. As outlined above, the same taxes now raised by Henderson County for the District would be collected by the Town of Etowah. Street Lighting: We propose to implement a program to add street lights to dangerous intersections to help prevent accidents. Further, depending on budgetary considerations, the Town could also assume the cost of existing street lights in developments.
