What services require Prior Authorization by PHSIC?
A complete list is available on this website. Inpatient admissions, outpatient surgery, and medical equipment are examples of services which must be prior authorized by PHSIC. To obtain Prior Authorization, you or your doctor need to call PHSIC at the number on the back of your ID card, 316-609-2498 or 1-800-289-0345 (outside Wichita). Notify PHSIC in advance of the services being rendered. PHSIC will contact your doctor to get the information we will need to determine how the services will be covered. A penalty may be assessed if Prior Authorization is not obtained for inpatient services.
