What services does FOH provide regarding AEDs?
• Working closely with your agency to develop a comprehensive and successful AED program. • Physician prescription for the purchase of AED equipment. • Writing a customized protocol for each building / location where the AED Program will be implemented. • Working with the agency to identify and establish an AED Response Team. • Ensuring that the training and retraining of the AED Response Team is appropriate. • Working with the agency to set up a communications system using, where possible, existing resources. • Establishing guidelines for the maintenance of the equipment and the program. • Maintaining an active Quality Assurance (QA) program. • Collecting information and reviewing data after a sudden cardiac event occurs, and providing feedback to the AED Response Team regarding adequacy, effectiveness and outcome of the response. • Review and coordination of AED Program compliance with State and Federal laws and local Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
