My husband and I recently listed our cottage with a self service franchise. Realtors call these do it yourself listings FizBos, short for For Sale by Owner. FSBO means that a home owner is electing to market the home by himself rather than engaging the services of a Realtor. There’s several advantages to self marketing a home. The obvious advantage is the financial savings of not paying a real estate commission which can range anywhere from 5% to 10% of the final sales price.
