Preventive and education services are provided for all citizens of the county. A preventive dental program that includes sealants, screening, referral, and education is operated in the schools. Other services include: oral health assessments, referral and education for older adults; public education concerning dental disease; and a dental health rotation for Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene students at Cape Fear Community College.
