What services are provided at the Lodging Unit?
The Lodging Unit has 32 guest rooms. Services include laundry, shared kitchens in the common areas, a free shuttle service to and from the VAMC and even a pool table. The Lodging Unit offers a courtesy shuttle service to the VAMC at regularly scheduled times from 6:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. This service is free of charge to all registered guests and their families. How will I know when to come to the VAMC? You will have received your information packet in the mail with your schedule. In addition, the Social Worker will call previous to your arriving in Portland. Is the cost of meals included in the on-site visit? No, the cost of meals is not included but there is a large and very generous volunteer service that provides food by making weekly deliveries. In addition, there are nearby grocery stores within walking distance.
