What Services are Included in the MH/SA plan?
This option expands the behavioral health care benefit to include those conditions not generally incorporated in a traditional MH/SA benefits structure — such as marital and family difficulties. If left unaddressed, these problems (typically labeled as “V-Codes” by the DSM-IV Manual) can result in other mental health conditions (e.g., depression), thereby contributing to increased mental health and/or medical benefits costs. PMHM is able to incorporate assessment and referral services for such conditions into its Comprehensive MH/SA Services option, while retaining a very competitive price for this benefit option overall. Corporate customers electing PMHM’s Comprehensive MH/SA Services have consistently found this expanded benefit model to be both highly cost-effective and of great value to their employees.
